c) "...is technically loud enough to cause permanent hearing loss in humans, should the cicada sing just outside the listener's ear
d) "...are also among the few insects known to cool themselves by sweating."
However, I found this note somewhat fitting:
"A number of species also have a courtship song, which is often a quieter call and is produced after a female has been drawn by the calling song." Hmmm, sounds like Mr. Secada and Mr. Cicada both have a way with the ladies...but I digress.
